My name is Maxine Finn and I am an authorised marriage celebrant. I am based in the beautiful Camden Haven area and happily perform weddings locally, up and down the Mid North Coast and Hinterland. I am also happy to travel anywhere else as seeing new places is something I truly enjoy.
When I am not officiating ceremonies, I am working on creating my butterfly garden and spending time playing the ukulele badly (what I lack in musicality, I make up for in enthusiasm). I have a passion for travel but during the last year I have been grateful for my home, family, puppy and my garden. I am a mindful person and get a lot of pleasure from the little things in life. I don’t just stop and smell the daisies, I grow them and make sure they are the right kind for butterflies.
I provide fully personalised marriage ceremonies which are light-hearted and heart-felt. While my main job is to ensure you are legally wed at the end of your marriage ceremony, that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. I am not a stand-up comedian, but I do like to engage your guests and ensure that the ceremony is memorable for them as well as you. Other than a few mandatory legal sentences the rest can be presented however you like. There are many variations on the traditional format and plenty of great ideas that aren’t even in the same zone. I am happy to do anything that makes your day special and represents your relationship. You may have your own ideas or you may look to me for some suggestions.
From our initial meeting to when your marriage is registered with Births, Deaths & Marriages (BDM), I will be available to help. I provide all the legal requirements and much more because I want your day to be perfect, stress-free and fun. Being married by me is like being married by a family friend. I am the one who has fans on a hot day and umbrellas on a rainy one. The one makes sure Nan gets a good seat, the one who makes sure the groom has nothing in his pockets and his tie on straight. I pride myself on being professional, friendly, flexible and caring.
